When his friend turns him on to the latest word in virtual reality games he, at first, has a ball but then he starts to run into 'unauthorized avatars,' who seem bent on wreaking havoc on the game and everyone connected with it.

He finds out too late what the horrifying truth of these 'unauthorized avatars' is.
